Bellamy Park Operations for 2021

The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley Council discussed the tendering/leasing out of Bellamy Park operations at the September 28, 2020 Council meeting (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-0yA2zOsLs ).  After some discussion, it was agreed that Park operations will be listed as a lease opportunity in publications such as Camping Ontario and Canada Commercial Properties for Sale rather than issuing a request for proposal at this time.  Council has instructed staff to ensure that the items that need to be addressed as set out in the facility review document are to be completed prior to finalization of any lease such as the docks, gate house and pavilion.

What does it mean for Campers?  The 2021 camping season will continue as in the past!  If an attractive offer does come forward between now and the end of next season, negotiations will occur and it is the commitment of the Township to do what it can to ensure current seasonal campers can remain at their site, if they so chose.

Would there be a change mid-season?  That, the Township cannot answer right now.  If it did occur, again the Township would do everything it could for the staff and seasonal campers.

The staff report, A-20-45 and its attachment, can be found on the Township’s website www.ektwp.ca , Meetings and Agenda, September 28, 2020 Regular Meeting of Council.
